Phonetics

It is the study of the sounds of speech. It includes understanding how sounds are made using the mouth, nose, teeth and tongue, and also understanding how the ear hears those sounds and can tell them apart. See all the parts of the mouth and symbols of the sounds involved in terms of pronunciation.

Some other features of Phonetic is divided into three types according to the production (articulatory), transmission (acoustic) and perception (auditive) of sounds.

Something you have to consider before transcription (a written or printed representation of something) is to know about vowels, consonants and diphthongs  sounds, some other features from pronunciation and variations like: blending, reduction and among others. Besides it is important to take into account how many parts of the mouth are involved in regards of symbol pronunciation before introducing phonetics at all.
For example, ‘gap’ and ‘cap’ are different words because speakers of English recognize the sound difference between ‘g’ and ‘c’ as being important.

If you did not understand about what phonetic is, here we have a video. Our friend Rachel will explain us about phonetics.
